Members of Tarrytown-Sleepy Hollow Human Rights Action (TASHRIA) have voted overwhelmingly to endorse Tasha Young in her campaign to become the next Greenburgh Town Supervisor. The endorsement vote followed the first TASHRIA Forum on Monday night, when members got to see and hear from Tasha Young and her opponent, longtime Town Supervisor Paul Feiner.
We are very grateful for Mr. Feiner’s 30 years of dedicated service to the Greenburgh community, and have always appreciated the hands-on and “on-call” style that he has brought to the position. The Town of Greenburgh is no doubt a better place as a result of Mr. Feiner’s long tenure as Supervisor.
But we believe the time is ripe for a change at the helm of the Town Board – and that Ms. Young is simply the right candidate for this moment in local history. While her opponent is very experienced in town government, Ms. Young has an impressive resumé of her own – with over two decades of experience in management, local activism, leadership and engagement in her community. We appreciate her thought leadership regarding the most crucial issues of equity, diversity, justice, education and housing that are facing the Town of Greenburgh – and embrace her vision of a a more equitable, fair, just and welcoming community for all.
For these reasons, we encourage all TASHRIA members who are residents of Tarrytown to support Tasha Young in the upcoming Democratic Party for Greenburgh Town Supervisor on June 22nd. If you plan on avoiding the lines on primary day, early voting in the primary will begin on June 12th and extend to June 20th.
