Members of Tarrytown-Sleepy Hollow Human Rights Action (TASHRIA) have endorsed two candidates – Amanda Wallwin and Ida Michael – for the two open seats on the TUFSD Board of Education. The BOE election will be held this coming Tuesday, May 17th. The endorsement vote followed the electronic distribution of a questionnaire to all three candidates running for the open seats.
We received responses only from the two endorsed candidates by the questionnaire deadline, which was at noon on Thursday, May 12th. We believe both candidates will be solid choices in these challenging times for School Boards across the country – as both expressed support for curriculum reform efforts around teaching true history and rejected the notion raised by some parents that schools are indoctrinating and dividing students by educating them on topics such as racism and sexuality.
All TASHRIA members are encouraged to support both candidates on Tuesday. For more information on the candidates and information on how to help their campaign, we urge you to visit their Facebook page.
